    SKS bayonet bolt size

Anyone know what the size of the bolt is? Is it metric or inches? What is the pitch?

I could wait a week for one to show up after purchase online, but I can also just buy a fit from the hardware store in the meantime.

    Thanks in advance.

Be patient and order one from online. Use the bayonet as a letter opener in the meantime. www.buymilsurp.com

A machinist told me the dimensions appear to be an M6 bolt, will try that.

I have a few letter openers right now, triangular, quadangular, blades of differing lengths... I even bought a damn sheath that is going to be nothing more than a paperweight holding down all the letters I open...

Okay, with all the kidding. If I may? Why are you in a rush to attach the bayonet? Just curious.

Bought a Romanian without a bayonet, have spent the last month trying to find a bayonet to complete it, the usual online suspects don't have any in stock. The auction sites are commonly demanding too much money for blade bayonets + shipping + condom. Finally did win one reasonably priced, its in the mail.

Of course I have house guests this weekend who want to go shooting, thus, a pressing need to bolt the e-bay-onet onto the Romi.

Aside from that, there is no hurry.

I like my wood rifles to be as complete to original as they can be, a Romanian SKS should have a blade bayonet. (and a sling, cleaning kit, cleaning rod etc.)

And just as an FYI, I have a large punching bag in the garage, don't need the neighbors seeing my bayonet charges in the middle of the night. Just turn on the local rock station and have at it. (BTW, do be careful of your ceiling when you have the bayonet mounted to a m91/30)

Chinese SKS are different. All other SKS are C&R list but them.I was told that they had to come off at the gun show or take the guns out of the building. That was1 1/2 ago at Stockton and VAL.In 1990 GW BUSH made the norinco illegal to have a bayonet on it had to be preban. All others are legal because they are C&R but not the Chinese.GOOGLE are Chinese SKS legal to have a bayonet.

Not CA rules of a C&R list but the Feds.

Nope it's not show policy google it and read. Are bayonets legel on Chinese sks and there is a artical on that and paratroopers were made by a US company and then by Norinco it never was a military item.

okay. there is no difference between cal. c&r and fed c&r, they are the same. chinese sks's came with a spike on most but some did come with a bayonet. don't believe me, look on gunbroker and you will see hundreds of them for sale with a bayo on them. now on to the non military issue. the paratroopers do not have a bayo simply because the barrel is shortened and there is no mount for one. your post earlier said that gw banned the chinese sks with a bayo on them, not true. the ban was on all chinese non sporting firearms.some were to have the bayo removed for importation but then u.s compliance parts could have them back on. and now we do not buy firearms from a communist country at all these days. also if there is a difference between fed and state c&r i would love to see a link, please.

Why can't you sell a Albanian SKS in CA face to face it is on the C&R list??
The reason is that it is not 50 years old[64-78]Thats what I meant about CA and the feds.
Google THE SKS COMES TO AMERICA and read it.I'm done talking about this they are illegal to have [Chinese] with a bayo made after 1990.Read that web page and then come back and talk to me
