    My dad has prior service, what else does he need for CMP?

    My dad was once in the navy, and is now retired. What does he need to do to order a rifle from the CMP?

    Looks like he just needs to be a member of an affliated club. And legal, of course.

        Keep in mind that if he is over 60, he doesn't need marksmanship proof, just citizenship and club (vfw works) affiliation.

          He also needs proof of citizenship. If he retired as an officer, his retired ID card will work. If he retired as enlisted, it will not and he will need a copy of either a birth certificate, passport, or naturalization certificate.
