As far as I know, no one makes black powder rimfire cartridges, except for blanks. Your alternatives are to use smokeless powder .22 Short cartridges, or make your own .22LR black powder cartridges http://www.shilohrifle.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14461

Personally, I wouldn't shoot that pistol. There are so many firearms that can shoot modern .22 rimfire ammo I would shoot those and keep that old pistol safe as a collector's item.

    Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

My plan wasn't to do a bunch of shooting with it actually. My plan was to restore the pistol and put it in a wood and glass display with an era appropriate (empty) box of ammunition and display it. I do want the satisfaction of knowing that I have fired a round through it but once I have done that I don't plan on any further use. In the condition it is in now I feel perfectly comfortable firing a proper round through it.

The pistol was a gift from a friend. I mentioned the display idea when I saw it in his safe. He told me that it was given to him 30+ years ago and he had never fired it. He offered it to me, and here we are.

The bore and cylinders are in excellent condition. Double and single works flawlessly, heck even the auto ejector works. The frame has a small amount of pitting on the outside, even with that the blueing is in about as good a shape as it can be with pitting.

The parts I want to replace are the ejector and ejector spring. While cleaning the pistol and looking it over they were the only pieces that showed any considerable wear.

I already went out and bought a small locking display and am in the process of gathering a few other small pieces I wanted to put in it.
