    Question about online ammo

Do I need a special license to buy ammo online?

I'm looking for a vendor that sells quality ammo for Swiss K-31s that use 7.5x55 mm. I heard that GP 11 ammo is very good, not sure if anyone has any thoughts about this.

No, nothing is needed other than a copy of your drivers lic. However, there are some areas that they wont ship to. Orange county is fine, but some cities and/or counties are a problem.

Orange County is fine by law, but there is a huge amount of FUD out there and many, many on line vendors and gunbroker sellers list Orange County, CA as a place they will NOT ship to. Normally this can be cleared up with an email though.

Best guess is that they mean Orange County, NY, but who knows how FUD gets started.

I didn't need to show even my DL to purchase ammo online from two different websites.

Ok, so I just realized that the GP 11 is a steel jacketed round and my local rifle range won't allow it. Anyone know of near by ranges in the LA area that will allow me to shoot a K-31 in GP 11, if not I better reconsider buying the rifle.

Prvi Partizan is a bit more expensive, but it uses a non-magnetic projectile.

Hey Elegante, that's not going to work, they don't ship to LA county, I hate California.

Their website says they don't ship to the city of Los Angeles. It looks like the only counties they won't ship to are Napa and San Francisco.

If you want to shoot the steel jacketed GP-11 surplus, I think there might be a range in your area that allows magnetic ammo during the rainy season. Someone from SoCal should chime in soon about that.

Burro canyon might let you shoot it during the rainy season, call first, and Mssr. Elegante is right, it's LA city not county. I live in Culver City which is in LA county and I order most of my ammo online. My friend who lives two blocks from me is in LA city and he can't do it.

Aim ships to LA County all day long...but not to LA City...I just picked up a few cases of GP11 and 7.62x54R on chargers from them...I love Aim!

Just got 2 cases of GP-11 from Samco last week, and I'm in LA Co.

Burro will let you shoot steel jacketed ammo for now (just shot some there 2 weeks ago), but don't know how long they let ya do that into spring...
