    Dumb AK question.

I looked and just cant find the answer, Are any of the AK platform rifles C & R?

Dont know what year the AK47 started production, or if there was an early model with a different name, but since I like my old Mosin and SKS stuff, I am wondering if there are any old AK rifles out there.

    Anybody know the answer?

There are C&R AKs, but they are all MGs.
C&R MGs still require BATFE approval and, in CA, a CA DOJ BOF Dangerous Weapons Permit.

Semi-auto only AK type rifles started coming out in the early-80s.

Officially adopted in 1947. Unfortunately, civillian semi auto AK type rifles did not come into the US until sometime in the early 1980's. There are some Vietnam bring backs, but those are real full auto assault rifles. They were mostly Russian and Chinese AK 47's.
