Can rifles be shipped to your C&R mailing address?

Some places will ship to your mailing address, some won't (Century). My question is, if the @#$@#4 BATFE can send the LICENSE to my mailing address why can't rifles go there too?

My understanding is that if it is a c&r rifle being sold to a c&r licensee, it MUST be shipped to the address on the license. There is no advantage to a c&r for modern firearms.

Of course I'm only talking about C&R rifles. And the mailing address is listed on the license, along with the "premises address."

I thought all shipments had to go to the premises address of a licensee.

ie. You can receive mail anywhere, but arms only at your premises.

they CAN send rifles to either address that appears on your licenese...

but they also can make it their own policy to only send to the premises address...

Actually there is no restriction as to where the rifle can be shipped. It does not have to be shipped to an address on the license. However, very few, if any, companies will ship to an address other than one listed on the license. Some companies will only ship to the premesis address, some will also ship to the mailing address. If they are shipping UPS, there must be a street address, not a post office box.

The mailing address is where they should be shipping to, however, as a FFL holder, you can have your package shipped to another address if you choose.

An example is that if you have a storage facility, it can be shipped directly to them for you.

If that is the case I'm surprised nobody has called Century on it.

Hi guys, sorry to hijack this thread, but since my mailing and premise addresses are both my home address, I was wondering if they will require signature at time of delivery? I know it will depend on how the companies choose to ship, but I am just wondering since no one is home during regular delivery hours. Does anyone know how some of the vendors ship from previous experience? Thanks.

Just about every gun shipped will require adult signature on delivery. What i almost always end up having to do is go down the the UPS depot and pick it up there...

though every once in a while, they'll leave 'em on yer doorstep. Not sure if that's a blessing or a curse...

last time I had something delivered to my door by UPS, I just happened to be near the front door and saw the UPS man through the peep hole rang my door bell, literally threw my package on the floor then took off. Not sure if I want them to do that to a rifle...

Yep, this is why I would prefer to have them delivered at work. Took a while before my boss stopped asking what came in that long narrow box or that square heavy one. I even have the UPS guy trained to bring the rifles upstairs and leave the ammo down by the door.
