I was lucky enough to pick this up during the last Service Grade buying frenzy.
June 1945 receiver with May 1945 barrel. Barrel is bright and shiny and gauges as new. All parts were correct for the serial number with the exception of the stock, rear sight, hammer, oprod and trigger guard. I traded the beautiful EMcF slant cut stock it came with for a very good condition NFR with large and small ord stamps and single serified P. I bought the type III lock bar rear sight for $95.00, and the correct uncut 9 straight side op rod for $85.00. I had the correct -9 trigger on my Winchester rack grade so swapped it out for the -2 that came with this rifle. The milled trigger guard matches perfectly in color and wear with the rest of the trigger group so I will not change it out. I will buy a stamped guard with milled hook if I can find one that matches the color of this one.
Shot it for the first time with no problems. Very accurate and just a great piece of late WWII history.
Sorry to those who missed out on these. It only took about 9 days if I remember correctly from the CMP receiving my order to my receiveng the rifle.

Top photo is my HRA Correct Grade
Second is the 1945 SA Service grade before I traded out the stock.
Third is a 1944 model 1894 Winchester
fourth is a 1943 Winchester Rack grade
Last photo is a 1942 Remington model 1903
I also picked up a full unopened spam can of 240 rounds of M2 ball in clips and bandoleers marked DEN 35342 repacked in 10-46 and some LC 42 in 20 round boxes. I know these must both be corrosive, but would TW 53 be corrosive? How about WCC 52? I have a bunch of each of those stamped cartridges also.
Thanks,
BTL
