Somewhere around 1350 fps, IIRC. It also depends on the manufacturer, if it was for a sub-gun etc.......

IIRC, it varies a bit from 1500-1600 ish. I've heard the .223 Timbs load can hit around 2000 fps!

1300 is more the range of 7.63 Mauser.

          .223 timbs is about 1800fps

magsafe ammo throws the .30 bullet at 2200-2300fps,

.22 reed express (requires a barrel conversion) starts at around 1950 and goes up above 2500 depending on the bullet weight.

I'm a huge fan of the Cz52, they need to make a double stack frame for them.

Okay, I stand corrected then. I know we shot some Russian that was 1350 fps-1390 fps. Now I have a good excuse to take the VZ-52 out to check some Bulgarian and Romanian.

I think the muzzle energy listed by PJA is missing a digit, maybe he intended 510 ft/lbs? That's well above typical 9mm, pretty impressive.

Lol, I hadn't caught that... that's like .22 LR muzzle energy.

I popped a bullet out of one of my 7.62x25 and tried pouring the powder into a 9x19 case I'd found... It won't all fit, even if you don't plan on seating a bullet in the 9mm case. So I can believe it could have a higher muzzle force than 9mm.

For those often comparing the Five-seveN 5.7X28 to the 7.62X25 - as fired from the Five-seveN:

1900 ft/s (28gr) to 2,300 ft/s (40gr) at the muzzle and around 330 ft/lb to 350 ft/lb for the 5.7X28 from what is essentially a similar sized handgun (these are not PS90 figures).

7.62X25 Tokarev in 85gr FMJ is about 1647 ft/s at the muzle and around 511ft/lb muzzle energy. Not too shabby at all!!

                    Meanwhile....

.30 Luger in 93gr FMJ is about 1220 ft/s at the muzzle and around 305 ft/lb from a similar sized Luger.

                    .357Magnum in 158gr FMJ is about 1214 ft/s at muzzle and around 515 ft/lb.

The main reason that people like to compare the CZ52 to the Five-seveN is the reputation that both have for cutting through kevlar.

Oh yes, it's why I posted those. I've seen "Box 'O Truth" in the past, an excellent website. I hope they will next use a vest and the helmet for testing the CZ52 vs. the Five-seveN, and maybe some surprise tests, like on a .17HMR, .22 Hornet, and maybe some older pistol fired oddities like the Smith Model 53 .22 Rem-Jet (which is a .22 using a necked-down .357Magnum case), the .357 Bain & Davis (.357 using a .44Magnum Case), and maybe some other high velocity wildcat cartridges using bullets under .30 / 7.62mm.
