    Difficult to get a COE?

I have my C&R. I was at my FFL the other day and he said that if I had my C&R and FFL I could pick up a Makarov from him and wouldnt have to wait ten days. I looked on the ATF website but didn't see anything about a COE. Can anyone tell me what this is and if it is hard to get??

look at the cadoj website. it's super easy to get. just fill out the form, get your livescan done and wait a couple of weeks. it's costs 90 something dollars.

i got mine in a week or two once i sent the app and payment.

Very easy. If you can pass a standard firearms eligibility background check, then you can get one. It requires that you get a fingerprint livescan, and send the required paperwork back to the DOJ with the appropriate fees.

The form can be found here:

You didn't see any mention of a COE on the BATF website because the COE is a California DOJ document not a Federal item.

The only complication is finding a convenient place to run the prints. There are a lot of them, but quite a few require an appointment.

Ok thanks for the info guys. I'm pretty sure I can get the livescan done at the Sherrif's department. I think I've done it there before for something else.

Thanks for the link to the form xenophobe

Most Sherrif's will perform the live scan. Here is the list of locations:
