    Weak spring or bad ammo?

went to the range to take my M24/47 for a test drive today
it went bang, on the 2nd or 3rd try for each round...
so i only shot 7 rounds

The bolt is nice and clean, took it apart yesterday and cleaned it so its not cosmoline in the bolt doing this.

Im shooting 50's Yugo, 11-55 is the headstamp

also, i notice on the last shot(7th round) the bolt was harder to open then the previous shots. sign of headspace problems maybe?

I've had the same issue with the Yugo ammo so I switched to the Romanian. I would suggest swapping the ammo as it's probably not the gun, most of the 24/47's go bang everytime.

Also, check to see if the case is swelling or cracking after firing.

    Have a great Kenpo day

"50's" yugo 8mm is known for deep primers. Most will change out the firing pin spring for better reliability with this ammo.

+1 on changing the firing pin spring.

Wolff spring upgrade is the ticket for shooting 50's Yugo.

Throw it away ( Ammo )

Just get rid of the ammo. It's an accident looking for a place to happen. You don't want one of those rounds cooking off when you take it out of the chamber. It will ruin your whole day

i just lifted the bolt handle up, and closed it.. waited a few seconds and squeezed the trigger again

i guess when i get some money ill replace the spring, the ammo didnt crack or swell. looked normal

"Accident waiting to happen"...well give it to ME if you're gonna throw it away. LOL.

Re: misfires...Give it 60 seconds to decide what it's going to do if you get a FTF before moving the bolt handle and disengaging the lugs. If anything, hard primers are good for "flinch" training. Get the Wolff spring and they will all go off.

I have a ton of the 50's Yugo (use to be cheap at Century) and it never has had a FTF in all my bolt guns but I don't use it in my FN 49 because of FTF. I also have some of the Romanian ammo and it works well in my FN 49 and bolt guns.

The 50's Yugo has a reputation for hard primers.
