    91/30 & M38 Range report

Well I took my Mosin 91/30 and Mosin M38 to the range today and this was the result. I was firing iron sights with 147 Gr Lead core Bugarian milsurp ammo at 100 yds.

The first one up is the M38. She was shooting a little low so I set the rear site to 200 yds and I got it cetered but threw 2 of them to the right. I am sure they were my fault.... I probably jerked the trigger.

Here are the shots from the 91/30. She was dead on. Now I cant wait to get out hunting with her...

My 91/30 at 100...couldn't barely shoot, 3 out of 15 on paper...not even what I would call a grouping. I couldn't use the sights, I shoot much better with other guns, gotta learn this gun a little better.

Today was awesome. I was able to hit alot of stuff like tennis balls at about 40 yds or so. I put all kinds of holes in it. It was a good day at the range.

Wow, that's some good shooting with the 91/30. I can barely group that well with mine at 50 yds.

Wow, that is pretty impressive accuracy on the 91/30. You lucked out!

The 91/30 is smoother and has less of a kick, and it is better balanced with a nice trigger.

The 38 has more of a kick and has a different sight picture that I'm not used to. I can probably get the groups smaller with more practice.

                    Here is the M38

And here is the 91/30. But I have removed the bipod and scout scope.

what's wrong with the scout scope did it not hold zero, or you just prefer iron sights?

And where did you get the bipod and the mount, I kinda want one for my m38

No, I couldnt get it to hold. I might try one more time and do something different. And with the bi-pod, was going to sell it on here. Are you interested? I will take 20 for it shipped. I paid 35 for it a couple of months ago. Pm me if you are.

And I was shooting Bulgarian milsurp. 147gr LPS Steel Core. I just looked them up on 7.62x54R.net I got it wrong in my other post.

Thats a cool range report. My m91/30 shoots all over the place. Its been re-bored, is pitted, and needs sight adjustment (i'll hammer it out sometime or buy one of those fancy adjustment tools).

I hope to take them back out soon. I want to take the 91/30 hunting but I want a little bit more experience with it.
