    Muzzle Loader ?

Hello, I have a question on muzzleloaders, are they still popular? At one time there were clubs and enthusiasts that had fun with these types of guns, I haven't heard much about them recently.. I have a old 50 caliber Hawken style rifle on my wall I built from a TVA kit years ago and can't remember if I even fired it, it Needs to go shootin.... Thanks for your opinions, Jim

there's 3 blackpowder meets a month in san diego, for one club alone! there is definitely a following down here, as well as in the hunting world, where in lots of places, you get a jump on deer season, ahead of the centerfire hunters.

Yes, muzzleloaders are still popular with a certain group. There is a big group that meets once a month at the Oakland range. It is a relaxing way to connect with the past, and learn how people used them as a tool for survival a long time ago. Check your Hawkins rifle, it probably is a CVA kit.
