    scout scope on 91/30

    Hello all-
I've got a question(which I know I may get some dirty looks from the purest out there), if I remove the rear sight from my 91/30, do i need to mark it before i take it off, if in the future I want to put it back on to align correctly with the front sight? I have a AIM scout scope set up that was given to me and I really want to mount it, but I want to make sure that I can put the old rear sight back on if I don't like it. Any help or info would be appreaciated. Thanks!

It is really easy to install. And no you don't have to mark it, there is only one way it will go back on. all you have to do is drive out the pin holding the rear site on , being careful not to loose it. Once it is out remove the metal piece that provided the tension. All you have to do is pull it to the front of the gun... I should slide right out. One that is off you then install your scope mount according to the directions if you have them.

Remember to not loose any parts. These setups are notorious for not holding zero. I would rather get the rock solid mount or the darrels scout mount. Also on the aim mount double check the allan screw length between the front and back. I almost stripped mine cause the front screw wasn't long enough. I hope it works for you and lets see some rage pics...

No marking needed, just swap it out. Goes right back on the way it came off.

I have on of those from AIM as well. Use some of weaker loctite (red I think) on the threads for the mount. I didnt the first time around and the recoil kept loosening the screws. Added some loctite the second time around and all seems fine so far.

As for putting the rear sight back on.... its a royal PIA ... get a C-clamp or a friend with strong hands.
