Do I need to make myself a form that will be signed with a Notarized Signature, or is there a different form on the CMP website (other then the Universal Order Form) that needs to be printed and signed?

I took the order form to my bank and the notary attached her own form to it. She said the area on the order form was too small. Must have been okay since I received this today:
SG SA, post war with 5.8 million serial and original stock (I think, I'm an M1 noob). -
froman, nice looking Garand! What was your wait time on that rifle?

As far as CMP is concerned the Universal Order Form is the only form which needs to be notarized. Of course you still need to send in supporting documents: 03 FFL, DD214, Birth Certificate, etc."Everyone must determine for themselves what level of tyranny they are willing to tolerate.

I'm getting so pumped as all my paperwork is going in next Monday\! I'm getting notorized tomorrow and off to the range to get signed by the range master on Saturday...
Service Grade SA!Next to me in the blackness lay my oiled blue steel beauty. The greatest Christmas gift I had ever received, or would ever receive. Gradually, I drifted off to sleep, pringing ducks on the wing and getting off spectacular hip shots.

whats the difference between the SA Service Grade and the WRA Field Grade?....also i didnt know i had to have a 003 FFL or a DD214...I've never served in the armed forces. One other question regarding CMP orders, can I request to have a WWII dated weapon, color of stock, stock cartouche etc.!!WANT TO BUY and looking for shooter/beater/reenacting grade German Waffen proofed handguns from the WWII era. You don't need to have an 03 FFL or a DD214. He was just giving examples of some of the other documentation you might need to send in to satisfy all of the CMP requirements. You might be sending in proof of marksmanship activity and proof of affiliated club membership instead of an 03 FFL or DD214.whats the difference between the SA Service Grade and the WRA Field Grade?....also i didnt know i had to have a 003 FFL or a DD214...I've never served in the armed forces. Service Grade is a higher grade than Field Grade, so a Service Grade should be in better shooting condition with a better bore.
WRAs (Winchester Repeating Arms) are more rare and sought after by collectors than SAs (Springfield Armory), so they are priced higher than SAs of the same grade.
Many people have luck requesting a rifle with a WWII serial numbered receiver. You might have luck asking for something like the darkest/lightest stock in the pile. Making two requests at once or asking for a certain stock cartouche might get you the worst rifle in the pile as punishment for being so greedy.

All M1 Carbines were made during WWII. Did you mean M1 Garand? So I shouldnt press my luck with the Color of stock and the WWII ear code? I just want the bang for my buck, Im only making $9.50 an hour so my Carbines' are going to be my birthday/christmas gifts to my self (seeing is how i cant go home for christmas i figured i'd treat myself)
As far as the Garands go, all WRA's were made in WWII. SA's were made
from before WWII into the late 50's. Some people put a sticky note on their
order page asking for a WWII number, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It seems to depend, if there is a group of 5 rifles on the top, and one has a WWII number, you may get it, but they are not going to search through the crate looking for one. It's the same for the stocks, you may get a original stock or a new CMP replacement. They will not search for cartouches. If you want a rifle with the original stock and cartouche, wait until after the first of the year when they are expected to have some Correct and Collector grades in stock. Expect to pay over $1000 for one of these.
If you want the most bang for your buck, and you are ordering now, your best bet would be a SA Service Grade. Give it a quick cleaning, lube it up and your ready to go. You will get a good shooter right out of the box. Anything less than a Service Grade may need some work done on the wood and metal finish and will have more wear to the bore.

Revolvers are not pistols
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
