I just got my ATF documents in the mail Monday. Anyone know how long the license arrives after you get all the rules and regulation documents?

I have another question. I'm new to CA and the gun laws are confusing to me. Reading the law I understand that no handguns or automatic rifles can be sent to a CA C&R. I have read on the site that sells the M1 Carbines that they are CA Okay with the ten round clip. My question is what has changed in the laws to allow this. By the way this is a great forum with a lot of knowledgeable folks that have a lot of patience with us new guys. Thanks.

The M1 Carbine is only semi-automatic, so it is perfectly legal in California. And since it is also a C&R long gun that is at least 50 years old, it is legal for C&R FFL's to have shipped into California.

Yeah that's what I was missing. Automatic vs Semi. When I hear automatic I think semi for some reason unless I see fully automatic. Thanks for the reply.

Mine stuff arrived all at the same time, they even sent me 2 licenses

The licenses had the same number, but were signed by different people.
I got a call from the BATF a few days later asking to return a specific one of the licenses.

Hopefully mine will arrive in a few days. I am eager to hit the Reno Gun Show this month to find a C&R semi handgun and longgun. I'm from Alabama and the gun laws there are a bit different from CA's.

Just found my license laying in stack of mail on my desk. My girlfriend must have laid it there without telling me. Postmark says 25th January. Women. Got to love 'em.

I think they go to meetings to figure out ways to screw with us. mine was in a stack of mail on the counter..... funny thing she always seems to get the BILLS to me on time

So that puts me getting my 03 in six weeks. Average.

Being new to the area, does anyone know about the Reno gun show coming up this month. Do they usually have a good selection of C&R handguns? How about their selection of assult rifles like an AK or AR. Of course I know it would be illegal to purchase and bring back to CA. Just curious.
