C&R by age question

Hello,
As seen in my signature, I'm looking for a S&W M&P 2" 5 screw revolver. As I understand it, S&W started calling the M&P the Model 10 in about 1957, making any pre-10 M&P more than 50 years old for sure. That being the case, are these considered C&Rs under CA law? I just looked at the list on the ATF sight, but they did not specifically list the M&P, seems most of the Smiths listed were specific collectors models, but I figured anything over 50 years old like that would be C&R federally anyway. My question is about the CA DoJ.

Bottom line question, given the age, can I go to another state, buy one(I have an 03FFL) and legally bring it back(filling out the form of course) or have one shipped here under the C&R pistol exemption from gunbroker or the like?

As I understand the law, I can, but I wanted to verify with those more experienced with such things before I do any of these things.

As long as it is federally C&R, per age or by listing, you can purchase it out of state with your 03 and bring it back to Ca with you. Just fill out the form within the 10? days.

You just need to be certain that it is actually C&R, so confirm the serial number or model if you need to.
