    Colt 45 1909 - value?

I inherited an Army issue Colt 45 revolver 1909 model serial number 34860. It's in fair condition, shows some use but cleaned up pretty good. My Dad was a career Marine (26 years), but I am not sure how he got it originally. It looks to have all the correct inspection stamps on it (RAC & FB). The grips may have been replaced (the originals were walnut AFAIK).
Since my Dad never shared shooting with me, it does not have real sentimental value for me.
Anyone have any idea what this may be worth?
    Thanks in advance

I looked on gun broker, auctions closed in the last 90 days never sold. There was one on buy it now for 590.00 never sold. Looks to me like their worth about 400 to 600 dollars.

Weather or not your dad shared it with you should not be the question. The real value on something that a loved one gave you should be priceless. Clean it up learn to shoot it put it away. Anything but sell it. I have NO RESPECT for anyone that sells stuff that was given to them from family members.

First off it was not given to me. My Dad passed some time ago and this was discovered in the closet much later. So your argument holds no water. Second, I wasn't looking for your respect, only an reasonable guess at the value of this gun. Case closed..

Check this site before you post it for sale. It might not be current, but it will give you an idea of the values.

Easy tiger, did you ever get rid of the clothes or toys your parents, siblings, aunt, uncle gave you? Discretion and well chosen words still have a place.
