    CLEO in LA?

Applying for a new C&R and the process has changed since i last had one. Now I have to send the form into the CLEO in LA? Anyone know who that is and where to send?

What do you mean LA ? You live in the City of Los Angeles ? Or you live in the outskirts of LA but within LA County ?

As the CLEO If you live in the City Of Los Angeles that would be the Chief of Police LAPD but if you live within the county it would be the The sheriff of LASD or LASO.

Unless the CLEO is different on my FORM 3 and 4 than it is for your C & R.

When in doubt call ATF. They should list a local number for compliance in LA
        at their website.

ATF just says to send it to your CLEO. In some places that is the Sheriff, in other places it is the Chief of Police.

I sent mine to the Sheriff. Really, it doesn't matter.

I half suspect that you could "forget" to do this and nothing would ever come of it as I'd bet most of these just get put in the LEO's circular file.

If you really want to check, call the non-emergency line and speak with the person that answers the phone. Explain your situation in detail and get their opinion.

After you waste your time doing that, just send it to the Sheriff. I have posted a sample letter to the Sheriff under the C&R section. Really, I believe that most of them just trash the documents anyway. Your duty is just to notify the CLEO, which you do when you send the letter. What they do after that is nothing that you can control.

If you want to get an accurate answer to your question.

Answer this question in what city do you live or what is your zip code ?

With this information we can tell you to what LE agency to send your forms to. Without it we can't.

Since your within the city of Los Angeles your CLEO would be the Chief of Police down at Parker Center.

Just send it to Miss CLEO that psycho psychic and she'll beam it to your head cheese leo.

I'm in Long Beach so mine went to Chief Batts of the LBPD. Only took 2 weeks for my C&R to arrive. Was pretty surprised how quick it came.
