Never seen one but from time to time I do see Enfields that have been concerted to a .410 shotgun chambering show up for sale.

Not that I would do this to a part of history.

But sounds like a good way to recycle a shot out bore.

I'm surprised the mods on 7.62x54r allowed pics of a modified Mosin to be shown on their site.

The Enfields are supposed to be .410 Brit which is different than our .410 shells. I was going to buy one a few years ago but the dealer told me I couldn't get ammo in the US.

From what I've heard it is essentially a blown out .303 case. I'm sure it could probably be made up by someone with the knowledge and the tools. This one probably is also a .410; I doubt it is anything much larger than that. Interestingly, the .410 LEs are referred to as muskets, which is probably more appropriate than shotgun. They're basically a modern form of the musket.

looking at all the ammunition developed at the time, just about every military cartridge had roughly the same dimensions. Wouldn't be too difficult to convert just about everything into .410

Hell the Mauser has seen just about every caliber in existance. In some cases the caliber used became synonymous with sporting use with the Mauser-Action despite it's invention for other rifles.

You can slip a .410 shell under the extractor of a M-N. There is a project in the works to fabricate a new trigger housing to accommodate loading multiple shells.
