A few C&R Questions

A do not know if a SVT 40 has a flash hider or muzzle brake. Let prentend it is a Flash Hider. If it is a C&R then would it be legal to transfer?

Are their any Assualt Weapon C&Rs available. If so can we get them?


If I hold a C&R 3 can they transfer rifles straight to my door or do they go to a dealer first.

If you pretend that the SVT 40 has a flash hider then it would be an "assault weapon" under California law. That's because it is a semi-automatic centerfire rifle with a detachable magazine and one evil feature (the flash hider).

There are other C&R "assault weapons" around. The U.S. M1A1 Carbine is one exemple. (semi auto centerfire rifle with detachable magazine and two evil features - pistol grip and folding stock)

"Assault Weapons" are illegal for "regular people" to transfer within California. There are no exemptions to California's AW laws for C&R firearms or for C&R FFL's.

If you have a Type 03 FFL (C&R License) then C&R long guns that are at least 50 years old can be shipped right to your door in California. C&R long guns younger than 50 years old and C&R handguns of any age can be acquired while you are physically outside of California and brought back with you into California.
