My new M1 from CMP! Serial# Question

I just got this bad boy in the mail a week ago. And the first shot at a cement pipe that was in the river was great, pieces flew all over the place and like 20ft into the air. Anyways the date on the barrel is 2-55. Is that the correct date for the serial number? And is the stock also original for this post korea garand. The only non SA marked part is the trigger housing but the rest is SA not bad for a service Grade!

Its definately post war. It falls into serial number range 5278246 through 5488246. The last production line garand was made in May 1957. So that being said the barrel could be original.

Hope you are referring to a piece of scrap concrete pipe and not an irrigation or drainage pipe.

Your receiver was made in 1954.
