paranoid about my Yugo SKS modification

I may sound silly, but with all the overlapping, convoluted, laws regarding modifications, I just wanted to be sure!
I put basic Williams peep sight on my totally stock M59 Yugo, fastened with JB Weld (for now.)
After I did it, I thought to myself, I'm better off to look foolish and ask; than to be going before a judge, or something worse. With my luck, I'd end up in the courtroom that my wife (a court employee) is clerking in
I'm fairly sure that I'm still in compliance; but am I violating the confusing rules?!!
I've read the rule of 10 or whatever it's called, and it's just not real clear to me.
Maybe I should stick to my old Marlin lever-action rifles.
I can modify the heck out of them and not worry about it!

Be happy and shoot your Simonov-pattern Yugoslavian rifle.

You act like it's illegally converted to full-auto, less than 16" barrel, silenced or something! That'll get you thrown in the slammer more than a aftermarkert sight upgrade.

JUST BE ABSOLUTELY SURE ITS 922(r) COMPLIANT!!!

You need to buy a a US made magazine, and several other US MADE parts. Keep documentation that you bought these items.

Or you can consider if and how anyone would ever get busted for 922r non compliant rifle?......Just saying.

It'd be an add on charge, hoping something would stick.

I think too many people are staying-up late worrying about "what if" scenarios that will never materialize.

The fear and paranoia I see arond here is my biggest complaint about this site.

            Relax and enjoy your rifle.

I don't own any non compliant rifles... (I'm kinda parinoid about that stuff) but has anyone actually been charged or convicted on 922r for non compliance?

Nobody here owns any non compliant rifles. All of our OLL's and SKS' are perfectly legal if configured correctly which isn't hard to do. If you are a member here you should not have a problem with knowing rules. If someone decided to make a rifle non compliant it's because they wanted to.

Doesn't a receiver sight let you spray bullets around indiscriminately without reloading?

Oops, that's a pistol grip, my bad.

I used to think that as well, until I read emails from a DOJ agent to Brady campaign folks, and had a local police officer try to force his way into my house to inspect my guns.

                        Thanks for the answers.
I did not see "sights" on the list, but since the peep sight is attached to the barrel(which is on the list), I wasn't sure about being 922(r) compliant.
I'm not trying to outsmart any law; I'm only trying to be able to see the sights! The original one is barely visible with the tiny notch.
                        It appears I'm okay.
                        Thanks
