Just random curiosity. Anyone ever had their books checked by the BATFE? What was it like?

I've never been audited but I've read posts on gunboards.com about other people's audits.

From what I recall the audit's thoroughness depends on who the agent is. Some are very concerned that the bound book info is perfect and will carefully inspect every firearm to see that they are properly entered.

Others will cut you some slack if the info is not perfect, and will just say get the info updated correctly by a certain time and they will check back.

I also read once where a guy didn't have his paperwork done right and the agent demanded he hand over his license right there. No more C&R'ing for him.
