    CZ 52 w/9mm Barrel, why?

I see where you can buy a 9mm lugar barrel for the CZ 52 handgun. What is the advantage of doing this? Ammoman has 7.62x25, 1240 rounds for 139.00 shipped, 9mm is 169.00 for 500. Has anyone used the 9mm barrel and was it a waste of money?

availability. While 7.62x25 is cheaper, it may not be suitable for range use... And for sure you won't always find a random box in your favorite gun shop.

9mm on the other hand is much widely available

10 years from now, 9mm will still be readily available. Surplus 7.62x25mm still readily available? That's anybody's guess.

I have the a 9mm barrel for my CZ-52. It transforms the CZ-52 into an unremarkable 9mm with trigger slap.

I don't have a 9mm barrel for my CZ but I wouldn't mind picking one up. I have a quantity of 7.62X25 but it never hurts to have options.

A while back you could get the 9mm barrel for around $60, but it did not come with the 2 rollers, the roller cam, or the the roller cam pin which can be another $35 to $40 in parts. I bought one of the armorer's kits when I bought my pistol, so I already had the parts.

Mine worked fine off the bat. If it's an extractor problem, maybe try an after-market extractor made for the 9mm conversion: http://www.gunpartswarehouse.com/cz52.htm

Those armorer's kits are great. I see people all over the net selling the small parts plus shipping, making big bucks just on the kit. I bought one because I have more than 1, cz 52.

Plus you get two brand new CZ-52 magazines with them.

I have a 9mm barrel for my CZ52, and it works fine. There are a few reasons for it:

                            - There's a lot bigger variety of 9mm ammo available.
                            - 9mm is much more available in general.
                            - 9mm is more reliable than surplus 7.62x25 (the stuff I have has hard primers).
                            - most 9mm is non-corrosive, most surplus 7.62x25 is corrosive.
                            - Having a dual-caliber pistol is interesting.

I consider the CZ52 to be an interesting gun, rather than a practical gun, so it made sense to buy the extra barrel years ago when they were common and cheap. Also, 9mm was $50/500 back then, so the price difference wasn't so big.
