I have predicted that K-31's are going to become the $900,000 Swedish Mausers. I'm looking at buying at least a half-dozen for myself. Does anyone know who sells the best quality K-31's? I'd imagine classicarms or aimsurplus would probably have the best.

Best Quality K-31's?
Tags: None -
I got my K31 from J&G Sales with a handpick. Everything metal on it was absolutely beautiful. The wood however had seen better times. I'm not much of a wood worker, but I imagine you could refinish the stock and make it purtyOriginally posted by Kestryllwe can not nor should not dismiss or discount my theory that in the dark of night you molest sea anemones by candlelight.Originally posted by TKMShow me on this 1st Amendment bobble-head doll where the mods touched you.Originally posted by Click BoomIt is clear from this thread that citadel grad was the gunman, and Oswald his patsy. -
If you want the really high quality one's, you need to check out http://www.swissdagger.com/
He is in Europe (Switzerland) and he gets some of the most beautiful examples.
Also try www.Simpsonltd.com, they have them come in from time to time, they recently had a run on K31 and K11 Swiss Target Rifles, beautiful stuff.
Actually, I think that some of these K31 rifles will even surpass Swedish Mauser values within 12 months. There are more Swedish Mausers on the market vs. K31's, and to find really beautiful K31's is even harder.
Here are pics of my K31, 1955 mfg.

Very nice! I used to see K31s for sale in Germany when I was there with the Army that looked to be in new condition for a reasonable price but that was before the 86 change to the law allowing importation. I wished at the time I could snag one or two. I also saw like new #9 Lee Enfield .22 rifles made for the RN at a low cost, same problem, couldn't get one home. Wonder where all that stuff went?Originally posted by K43qveIf you want the really high quality one's, you need to check out http://www.swissdagger.com/

Got my K-31 from AIM yesterday. Not a single complaint. Ordered a walnut with hand pick. 90% plus blue, all matching and included a troop tag under the butt plate. I am thinking of getting a birch one if they are on par with the one I got. Great gun at a good price. Now need to find more ammo!!Last edited by TEX1966; 01-04-2007, 8:38 PM.Comment

The stock is beech, not that important, but good to know.Originally posted by TEX1966Just got off the AIM site and the buy now option is gone on the K-31's. I think I may have missed the boat on the birch stock. They are still listed but the " Buy now " is gone but still listed on the other C&R guns.
Very clean K-31's are nearly impossible to find for cheap through the distributors, I was buying 4-6 at a time and keeping the best ones for myself. My dilligence paid off and I've got about 12 or so that I would consider to be as good or better than the ones selling at simpsonsltd for $300+. That being said, i've got about 12 more (i have a hard time selling guns) that i got through centerfire, Aim, etc and are still in great condition. They would be very hard to replace through AIM, FGS, Allan's Armory, or Century.
My advice is to pay some money for a true collector grade now that the "bulk" shipments have started to slow to a trickle. Otherwise, the standard dealers are a gamble. If a shooter is what you want, get 2 or 3 while supplies last, they aren't going to be around forever.
I do miss the days of the $59 K-31 "shooter" grades, and the $89 Big 5 sale prices.
Here a couple of old pictures....
