    Help w/ my SKS sling

ok, so how the heck do I install the sling on the rear of the stock? The front clip is easy, and the buckle on the sling looks like it should come apart to thread through the sling bracket, but I can't figure it out. I don't want to mess with it too much and end up breaking it...

so I come to the oracle of knowledge for advice...

ok, here are a couple of pix... maybe it's not what it's supposed to be???

    thanks

dunno, your sling doesn't sound like an SKS sling

Mine has a loop that goes through the front and a loop that goes through the back

      SKS Sling question

You'll have to thread the clip & D ring back through the buckle part, I know - doesn't sound like it'll work.....it'll go, just takes some patience.

After that wiggle it through the rear sling swivel on the butt and then back through the buckle, adjust to desired length & clip on the barrel attchment point on the left side and Voila~ you're done!!
Isn't moderation great? If you cry loud enough, you'll always get your way.... Freedom of speach is not a novel concept in some places is it? NO, but censureship sure is~

I thought they had the double straps and not a clip like that on the end of both. Maybe thats just the older ones or something as I only really have experience with C&R sks's. Here's a pic of mine with a sling

The surplus sling I bought for my AK looked like the sling you have pictured. I looped the end with the clip through the D-ring on the butt and then theough the buckle then clipped te clip to the ring on the hand guard.

                maybe this helps

thanks to all of the good input on installing the sling...

got it done last night and everything worked just like you guys said it would. I NEVER would have thought to run the clip thingy back through the buckle.
