C&R license help

Hey guys/gals, I'm trying to fill out my C&R license application and i need some info/help.

when they ask for chief LEO, is that the LAPD chief william j bratton and is the address just the LAPD HQ address?

Call your local PD station for your district, and ask them the name and address of the CLEO for your precint/district, and mail it to that address.

o before i forget.... what do i put in the "title" section where i sign my name at the end of the application?

is it just the Mr. or?

The CLEO could either be LAPD Chief or your Sheriff, you will have to call and find out. In my case, the CLEO is the San Diego County Sheriff, and they have a special "licensing" office which handles these. You might have to make a few phone calls in order to figure it out. But once I found the correct number, the lady (at licensing) knew exactly what I was talking about and was very helpful...

As for "title", I don't think that's mission-critical. I'd guess that's more for brick-and-mortar FFL's. I put "collector." You might try "The Great," it will make some dreary BATFE employee's day for sure!

Bratton is only for the City of Los Angeles. If you live in an incorporated city with its own police department, it will be the chief of police, if you live in an unincorporated area, such as Hacienda Heights, Rowland Heights, etc it will be the Sheriff. If you live in an incorporated city policed by the Sheriff (such as Lakewood, Bellflower, Diamond Bar, Walnut, Industry, San Dimas, etc) it will be the Sheriff. (4700 Ramona Bl., Monterey Park, 91754)

i'm using diamond bar (parents house, permanent address) for the license for now since i live in condo/apt with my friends.

so i would put sheriff Leroy D. Baca and that address you gave for the CLEO?

Hey, just jumping in on this thread real quick, I applied for the c&r a while back, they got the money from my account and I had not heard anything, got a voice mail on Friday regarding the application, but accidentally deleted the message. Any idea who it may have been or who I need to contact?

You should contact the Federal Firearms Licensing Center at 1-866-662-2750. The person working on your application might be Gregory Stimmel at phone number 304-616-4620, but that is just a guess. You should try the main number first and they will put you in touch with the right person.

Thanks for the number, I called over there today, they said it was probably Maureen (probably not spelled correctly) and that she was not in today, left her a voice mail. we will see what happens tomorrow.
