    Wife was given 3 cap & ball black powder rifles. I think that's the correct term, they're not flintlock.
    Two have markings. One is Thompson/Center and the other is CRV. Both are .45 caliber.
    The third has no markings and is a much larger caliber.
    Guess I have more learning to do as I have zero experience with black powder firearms.
    It looks like they came with some equipment, it's mixed in a couple of totes with a bunch of leather working tools. Leatherwork i have experience with. Haven't had time to sort through them.

    Post info on side of barrels. Big ca could be .50 or .54. Percussion fired w. caps. sidelock.

      in normal usage "cap and ball" refers to revolvers. a muzzleloading long arm that is not flintlock is usually just called "percussion".

      pictures of the barrel markings would be nice. the one should be CVA, not crv. I bet auto correct hit you there.

      those rifles are the entrance to a rabbit hole, lol
