    Altering Mosin stock

    Is it possible to change the stock on a m38 so that the stock is straighter, without that sudden narrowing of the wood near the barrel

    I would not mess with the original wood stock. you can buy a plastic stock if you don't like the original, IMO the m38 is a good looking rifle.

      Really? the sudden tapering makes it look really wierd compared to a m39

        I have to agree, the M38 is a nice looking rifle. If you switch stocks keep the original in case you decide to sell the Mosin later...
