    Help to ID a Mauser

I have been collecting C&R rifles for a while, but they are all US made rifles. I got my first foreign rifle. I have to admit I do not know much about this Mauser, let alone most Mauser rifles at all. So, I was looking for some help. If anyone has any personal knowledge or knows of a site or forum that could help.

What I do know is it is most likely a carbine. The overall length is about 39" and the barrel is about 19" or less. It is 7X57mm and I believe it is missing a rod from under the barrel.

It is marked with a Mexican symbol and has the year 1903 on the top. On the side it has "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSPARRIKEN" and "BERLIN" under that. I am including pics of that and under the barrel where I believe a rod is missing.

    I would appreciate any information.

    Thank you,

    Jay

Thank you, I had actually seen the first link (wiki) when I was searching, but the second link I had not seen. That was interesting and that is the exact one I have. I hope to find out more.
