    WARSAW WALL

    Hi Gunners and C&R Junkies,

Here's a quick and crappy shot of my humble Euro SKS iron heap. I just got the top rifle from MashedPotatoJohnson out of Huston. Took 2 months of Kali DOJ "Delay Delivery" hassle. Top to bottom:
'51 Tula light refurb BBQ, where there's #s they match, only the stock is forced, doesn't seem run much, bolt and hammer face look new, over all excellent
'54 as issued Tula but ruined by the former 01 FFL who bought it new for $89 bucks back in the day, I call it the "Green Hornet"
'54 Izhevsk refurb all matching and not run much
'59 M59C Yugoslavian as issued with correct sling, about the cleanest SKS I have
'60 M56 Romanian, (Transylvania actually) forced in many areas, rough furniture, typical example for a Romy, good bore but looks like a vet
    '69 & '70 M56 Albanian both matching, '70 is nicer
These guys are all cosmo free, clean and functional main battle rifles but are hanger queens. Someday I'll do a better pictorial layout, thanks for looking, enjoy. PAX

Have any AKs and pistols in your Warsaw collection?

Some of the guys in the Survival SKS Boards have 100s of SKSs
          Hard to believe

100's - how large are their homes?

I have a number of safes in the house, and I can barely contain my collection/accumulation.

I would think SVT-40's home must be a self-contained armored safe.

100's of just SKS's. Hard to imagine.

Thanks guys, you know how it goes, win some lose more.
Only 1 SVT and 4 Mosins. No AKs (& ARs) or pistols mainly because of all the stupid with AK ownership and commie pistol ammo. I've only bought X54 & X39. Up until recently I had about 50 SKS rifles. I picked up all the cheap ones I ran across early on, scored on a couple big parts lots and bought barreled actions from SARCO, enough stuff to assemble 6 or 7 rifles. I held on to those for years until the price went through the roof.
One fella on the boards, pre-2014 SKS Files split, "Beach Bum With A Gun", had two shipping containers full in crates and another full of ammo. He had a mess of other stuff too. There was a lot of Chinese dating infighting and many old timers just quit contributing . PAX

I remember when he was moving to AZ he posted photos on this forum of the giant industrial safe he was transporting.

Paint. I can remove it but it doesn't affect it's shootability and it's kinda grown on me. I just picked up this today: https://www.gunboards.com/threads/ki...-tula.1255582/ PAX

I got rid of a few of my SKS's (I never really collected them,), mostly giving them to my son, including my '53 Izhevsk. I kept a few Russians and have acquired a couple of the Chinese variants including a SKS-M, but echo1's wall-o-SKS's humbles me. I kept a '51 and two '54 Tula's, all refurbs. The '54 in the laminated stock, is probably the nicest as it retains nearly 100% of it's original bluing. The laminated stock is a dead giveaway that it also went through a refurb even though it doesn't have a rebuild stamp.

An interesting thing to note regarding the (M) model is that with the increased length of pull, it is nearly the same OAL as a stock Type 56.

A question for those that might know:

I am currently looking a Paratrooper, but I don't know much about them except that they were made purely for the US market. The one I am interested in has a Factory 26 receiver that, according to the info on the internet, dates to 1962 as the first digit of the serial number is a 7. Does anybody know if they recycled older receivers into the Para model?

Nice group of Commie iron H. The Paratroopers could be found in all forms of condition, from old beat milsurp to fresh production. The KSI built units I have look like they were from new stock. The bolt face and hammers show virtually no wear, are numbers matching including the wood. Who's the importer on the one you're looking at? Other Paras I've had/have were mix master's or scrubbed of numbers and restamped with a new serial only. You really need to check a Para out like any other SKS because they can be well used just cut down. My first one had poor sear engagement and would/could let the hammer fly with the slightest bump. That's when I learned the "drop" check the hard way. If the price seems affordable (Chinese SKS bank) jump on it. At the height of the plague panic Paras were going neck to neck with Russian SKS money. The short skirted girls are my favorite shooters. PAX

PS I just DROSd another as issued '51 Tula in this thread until I take my own picts (sellers). https://www.gunboards.com/threads/ki...#post-11391170

I don't remember who the importer is, but IIRC it was some outfit in Michigan. The next time I get a chance, I'll take a pic of it.
