    K43 tactical accessories.

After snagging a late-war K43 at the Costa Mesa show and going through the transfer, I decided to see what accessories I could add, to make it more...

...Because I felt like it, lol.

Here is the rifle after a few "tactical accessories" were been added.

    Things procured and added:
    1. Original K43 Sling.
    2. Original K43 Zf4 scope
    3. Reproduction mount and bands.
    4. Original G43 "Durofol" hand guard
    5. Original G43 Manual and spare-parts "stock kit."

The wood hand guard that was on the rifle will be kept with the rifle, as I believe it to be original wartime issue. Some on-line experts thought it should be Durofol, so I found one overseas.

I will find an original mount and bands that's makes sense, in the meantime my day job has started to heat up again - so, my energy and spare time is elsewhere. This project will be relegated to the gun-safe for a while.

It has been fun learning about these interesting old rifles again.

Nice! I have an original scope for AC44, G43, but the mount that came with the rifle was a repop. When I got it the original stock was butchered so badly it was unusable and I had to get a reproduction for that too.

I have hopes of finding a real WWII stock for it though although they are really hard to find.

Is that a green or blue triangle on the scope? Blue was for extreme cold weather areas and Green was for hot areas - like the Western Desert. White was normal. I have only seen blue ones.

If you can find a sniper scope carrying box, those are rare and hard to get. I have never seen the first steel cans and only one of the wood boxes. Lots of repros for the wood box - some unscrupulous sellers try to pass off as real.

      Really nice score Pitfighter.

I have heard there was so much switching by US owners of these G/K43 rifles of the various types of handguards - that no one is sure what was originally on these rifle and what was switched in later in the US.

        Roger,

It is a blue triangle for cold weather, Russia was the priority field of use I guess.

I saw the scope cases, honestly rather find an original mount for now, just don't really have the bandwidth for the hunt, right now.

The wood hand-guard is correct, and supposedly there were plenty in wood, I got worried by the confidence of the on-line reception, with the collectors saying that late a production from BLM it should have been composite material, so I hunted down the Durofol guard, then read up a bit more and realized it was probably 100% authentic wood and not to listen with such veracity the noises on line, lol.

        Hope you're well and sparking!
