Best cheap mil-surp pistol?

I am looking at J&G Sales in Arizona and they have several mil-surp pistols for cheap. Any of them very accurate? I was wondering because I was shooting my friend's Makarov the other day and the best I could do at 25yds was about 1 ft. group, whereas I could shoot about a 6" group with my dad's 1911.

J&G sells Tokarev TTC, CZ vz. 82, Nagant revolver, Polish P64 (not sure if this one is legal in Kali?)

My friend said also to check out the PA-63. Any opinions/ experiences?

Maks are VERY accurate. Fixed barrels and all. Sights are tiny, and triggers are sometimes heavy, but they are inherently accurate.

I have a PA-63 and like it. It is very accurate and light weight. Others I let shoot it tell me it hurts the web of their hand between thumb and trigger finger, but it doesn't bother me. My friend recently bought a CZ-82 from J&G and it has a better trigger than my PA-63 but the gun is much heavier. It does have an easier to operate ambidextrous safety and mag release. The PA-63 has a chrome lined barrel. The CZ-82 has polygonal rifling so if you reload and want to shoot lead you're out of luck with that one. The Tokarev has very cheap and plentiful ammo but it's corrosive so cleaning is more involved.

It was unbelievable value at $250, fantastic at $300, great at $350, good at $400, and average at $500 as you can get a used Sig for around that price.

JG has it for $370, add $20 for hand-select. Shipping is $22 and a minimum of $35 to transfer in California. $450...still OK.

This pistol might be more expensive than the others, but you will get what you paid for.

More like $135 for out of state dealer to dealer transfer. If you can find one already in CA it could be a good deal.
The P6 is great for sure, but my PA-63 was under $200 OTD and I'll put it's reliability up against a P6.

Slightly off topic, is the PA-63 a C&R handgun? If it is, can I get it in CA if it's not on the list of "safe" handguns? Will a C&R license help?

I just called ATF today to send me a C&R application form. The guy was very friendly and said he'll send it out today and I can probably get it by Saturday.

Not sure. I bought mine from a dealer. I was told by a few other dealers that CA seems to have it's own standards about C&R when it comes to handguns; though this may be misinformation given to me to avoid doing an out of state transfer.

The PA-63 is not a C&R and was removed from the CA DOJ Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale, I believe it was re-tested and failed to pass.

I would go w/ a CZ-82 or P6, I have both and like them.

My friend has a CZ52 shoots the same ammo as the Tokarev. he also has a conversion barrel so he can shoot 9mm out of it.

I shot a Makarov over the weekend. that was a very nice pistol.

I've always wanted a PA-63, but I never understood weather it was legal or not. My mom moved to Texas, so I may have her buy one since they are cheap, just so i can shoot one.

What kind of groups do you get? The short sight radius doesn't help either. And the trigger on my friends was pretty mushy compared to my dad's budget RIA 1911.

That's probably from Glock's recommendation of NOT using lead bullets in Glocks.

There's something different about Glocks chambering and throat...forgot the term. But lead tends to build up and cause them to malfunction.

There are many other types of pistols with polygonal rifling and they have no problems with lead bullets.

why would you reload 9x18??? You can get 500 rounds for $109. Can you even get close to beating 5 cent a round reloading?
