PAST shoulder pad and my Mosin.

Okay, kinda a new Mosin owner here. I got a nice 1925 Tula and the first time out I shot about 60 rounds and really felt it in the shoulder. So I ordered one of those PAST shoulder pads from Midway. (about $25.00)
Today, went to the range and I feel terrific! Shot 100 rounds and my shoulder is fine. Best of all, My accuracy was way better and the Mosin was way more fun to shoot.

I highly recommend the shoulder pad.

I also use one when shooting my Mosin. I can not match your 100rds but I've put 40 rds down range with no problem. Great product....

I put about 100 through my two M44's last week, I hit my target every time, but then again, my target was at least a foot wide each time .

I use the PACT pad when doing load development from the bench with my magnums. It keeps me from developing bad habits

I use a PAST when I shoot my Pedersoli Sharps 1875 or the Browning 1885, both in 45/70.

Makes a big difference in comfort, especially shooting 500 grain match loads.

there is no shame using a PAST shield when shooting any of the Surplus guns on the market (except maybe an M-1 Carbine ) I was shooting my 91/30 Sniper today from the sitting and prone, if I hadnt had my PAST my collarbone would be toast right now. K-98s are another one that need it, Especially when shooting Turkish Ammo

And for those of us who have to pretend to be too tough to need this, you can cover your PAST Shield with a jacket or sweatshirt.

Thanks for the tip, I was thinking about picking one of these up. If anyone gives me any crap, I'll explain that Mosins (if not all milsurps) were made with a short length-of-pull, both for smaller troops and to compensate for thick winter clothing. Being a gangly lad and shooting in a T-shirt, I need to compensate .

I just wear a tshirt & manage to blast off 200+rounds at the range without so much as a bruise. What's up with you colonials?

Ive got a bandoleer of Turkish 8mm for you to shoot (70ish rounds) out of my K-98 and then we will shoot some Hungarian light and heavy ball out of my mosins.

I gave in and bought a PAST buffer pad a few months ago after attending 3 day tactical shotgun class...after 600 or so rounds, any thoughts of appearing to be a wimp by using one were long gone.

Well worth the money (and any chuckles from the young'uns at the range)...

I bought a recoil pad for my M-44 as well. My hat goes off to the guys who used to have to shoot possibly hundreds of rounds a day through those rifles in combat....

ditto, not only the recoil , but the amount of noise these rifle make. all these m44 soldiers must have no hearing left!

o yea.... even with plugs in... those m44's were still damned loud... took a lot of effort to concentrate on my own shots when one was firing next to me...
