Hi, I have an old T/C Hawken muzzleloader that I would like to hunt with. I see that ICX ammo, which seems to be the only kind available, is out of stock. Is there any other alternative available?

Not sure how sabot rounds work with muzzleloading twist rates.
It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia. -
I use barnes 44 cal bullets with sabots and 100 grains of 777 pellets. Out of tc inline. OK at 100 yards. 3" groupsComment

In California, black powder substitute pellets are approved. Non-lead projectile is required.
Section 353. Methods Authorized for Taking Big Game.
(c) Except for the provisions of the following subsections (d) through (j), big game may only be taken by rifles using centerfire cartridges with softnose or expanding projectiles; bow and arrow (see Section 354 of these regulations for archery equipment regulations); or wheellock, matchlock, flintlock or percussion type, including "in-line" muzzleloading rifles using black powder or equivalent black powder substitute, including pellets, with a single projectile loaded from the muzzle and at least .40 caliber in designationComment

I have a fair bit of ITX round ball that I can sell to you at a slight discount to retail. I had bought it right before I bought some casting equipment and now use the Rotometals bismuth casting alloy for my hunting needs. It's all 50-cal (.487"). Message me if you're interested.Comment
