I think the PN made the slightly better cord than the BP (less ash and less likely to extinguish, based on this video). But it's close and looks like either works well. BP needs fewer ingredients because you already have it, but it costs more by volume than PN. Video is *** two weeks!*** old.

That long spike with horizontal loop on top that he has, looks like a small ground quiver for a long bow. Jabbed into the ground and 2 or 3 arrows dropped into the loop to hold them ready to shoot.
