No need to put any cover letter if you don't want.

I didn't and it made no difference.

I'm sure they see so many of them that when they see the form, they just file it and shred the letters that came with them.

You don't really even need a cover letter I just write "File Copy" on the copy of the application.

I mailed my forms right before Thanksgiving and I have my license in hand as of last Friday.

My cover letter for the Chief of Police consisted pretty much something to the nature of this:

Enclosed is an ink-signed copy of my application for a Curio and Relic Federal Firearms License. This copy is provided to the Office of the Chief of Police in accordance to the ATF procedures for a Curio and Relic FFL application.

Not exactly what I wrote. But that's pretty much what I said. I can't seem to find my word doc file of my cover letter. I probably didn't save it.

I didn't put any cover letter, just an envelope. I figured the Chief doesn't need any more paper than he already has.

I reccomend you throw those forms away unless you have allot of funds at your disposal.

I didnt include a cover letter. But I did highlight the lines at the bottom that informs "you are not required to take any action".

I didn't use a cover letter for mine. About 2 weeks after I sent it in I got a knock on the door....
