Looking for some SKS information

Hey folks, I have the chance to pick up a rearsenaled 1954 Russian Izhevsk SKS with matching #'s and in what appears to be great shape.

Understand they were only produced in '53 & '54 unlike the Tula's several year run @ manufacture.

Would welcome any and all input or opinion on this piece & it's "collectability" value.

believe it was 54-55 or 56 actually. far as value, really not worth any more than a good tula. some claim they're better, some worse. i'd say if it looks good and the price is right, buy it, shoot it, and enjoy it. they're a well-made rifle and if you get a good one, extremely accurate and a downright blast to shoot.(pardon the pun) i have a '52 tula, my first c&r actually, and i adore it. hope you get this one and it's as much of a sweetheart for you.

If you like it, can afford it and it isn't too overpriced, snag it. If you don't, you will probably regret it. Besides, you can always sell it if you decide it's not for you; maybe even make a couple bucks. If you decide to pass it up, then please let me know where I can purchase it. Izzys, like you already know, are a rarity and are collectible. Get it while the gettin's good!
