Identify the bolt in that movie "Arisaka" (2021)

I watched that movie "Arisaka" (2021) and that bolt does not appear to be a standard Type 99 bolt. The movie itself was forgettable, but the Arisaka rifle in the movie is strange - in that it has a bent bolt and the rear of the bolt does not seem to have the circular knob on the end that I am use to - ?

    https://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Arisaka_(2021)

The rifle has a side mounted sling attachments.

I know sniper variants have bent bolts but still the same circular knob on the end of the bolt.

Can someone explain why that bolt end befuddles me? Is there some sort of bolt end variant that I am not aware of - ? I don't think it is a Type I bolt or a Type 30 Hook bolt.

The cut-out for room for a thumb to press down the stripper clip fed rounds on reloading - that exists for Mausers but I don't recall them on Arisakas. Looking at pictures of Arisaka Type 99s and I don't notice such a cut-out on them as in this picture.

Are they switching to a Mauser rifle for the close ups of her firing?

      Some small ring Mauser variant.

^^^This. My T99's are cut for strippers, the T38's are not. I wonder how they screwed that up? PAX

I'm wondering if some gunsmith in the Philippines made that mockup using the front end of a Type 99 and the rear parts of a Mauser. Although the movie is called "Arisaka", they never mention the rifle's name in the movie.

So much for its starring role in a movie.

The rear part of the receiver of the rifle in the pic has a cut out on the rear right side. It's not a standard Mauser receiver...

            Not a Type "I"...

The stock has a weird cut below the bolt release box which wasn't standard on any Mauser that I can thing of.

            Who knows.

From the looks of the safety and cocking piece it appears to be some type of mauser, maybe a K98?

                ^^^ BINGO ^^^

Expand the pic, and look at the bolt gas shroud and shorter cocking piece.

That is a SMALL RING MD 98. Likely a GEWEHR 98

Small Rings are commonly thought of as the Swedes, early Turks, md 1893 through 1895 Spanish and So American Mausers. But the first GERMAN transition model 98 variants of the 98 were also small rings.

K98 is a large ring. Rifle in pic doesn't have the "step" up in diameter at frnt of ejection port. K98 replaced the GEWEHR 98. IIRC, after WWI.

Look closer. I at first also thought so. What we are seeing is the standard 98 [cock on opening bolt stop]. Earlier pre 98 small rings [cock on closing] did not have it.

I thought GEW98 too, but I think it's a Mex 1910. There's a receiver ring lip on that one for the full hand guard.

Even IMFDB calls it Type 99

"The titular Arisaka Type 99 is acquired and used by Mariano (Maja Salvador) in the film's climax. It is also seen earlier in a dream sequence where it is held by Japanese soldiers (Mark Angelo Lozano and Boris Erandio). The rifle has a bent bolt and is equipped with an unused monopod."

                      Are they often wrong?

Dan, I've found quite a few screw ups on their info.
I finally got the movie scene pics up, and all the "Arisaka" rifles are Mauser 98's, made up to look like like a Type 99.
