Can your house be searched without a warrant if you have an FFL03 License?

Can your house be searched without a warrant if you have an FFL03 License?

I was told by a gun store owner that if you have an FFL03 license you house can be searched without a warrant. Is that true? It doesn't sound right but it was coming from a gun store owner so I thought I would check.

Are there any other disadvantages like this to having an FFL03?

The only thing I know of is that you can be asked to produce a log book of your purchases etc.

Your house can't be searched without a warrant.

ATF can ask you to produce your logbook along with the acquired guns listed in the log book. It doesn't even have to happen at your house. Don't forget to enter dispositions.

With a FFL03 license the ATF has to give you a written notice to inspect your C&R firearms and bound book. You have the option to have them come out to your house or bring all of your guns to the local ATF office which can be a pain. I had a C&R for three license terms before I let it expire. They never contacted me about an inspection. When you renew your license you have to list the number of C&R guns bought and sold. If you have a lot of sales they may audit you to make sure you are not making a business of selling guns. If you are they may require you to get a FFL 01 dealer's license.

I think he said something about the fact that his gun store could be search, but since I wouldn't have a gun store, they could search my home. That's at least what I understood was the claim.

I didn't really believe it, but I thought I'd check anyway.

Heck I'm sure any law enforcement agency can search anyone's house without a warrant if they really want to. But probably isn't a legal search.

Im no fan anymore of an 03 because of Kalifornia Bullsheite rules..but that shop owner is s kook and you should tell them that.

Now what can happen is when they ask for a logbook inspection and you says "sure come by my house " ..when they walk through your door their eyes will be looking for anything they can hang you with. I just say no to any law enforcement coming into my house for "inspections". If I was a slave to this state still to save $50 on a rifle I would bring my collection into their office.

Its in a gun shops interest for you to buy there $600 SKS instead of you buying it for $400 and shipped to your door.

                              Nothing more true than that.

I had an FFL who refused to provide me with his FFL number to run against the FFL EZ check. He said I did not have access to that system because I wasn?t an FFL and he wouldn?t give me the number anyway because I could make a fake
                              License with it.

I googled his name found his FFL number, went to the atf site and found his name, number, mailing address, business address, and other relevant contact information. If only he know how public his data was.
