CMP changed their web hosting server webpage a few weeks ago from https://forums.thecmp.org/ to a new link; http://b34da70920f9-006155.vbulletin.net/

I believe this also included an upgrade to the underlying software. Many people had difficulties accessing the new site and what made it even harder was that CMP did not change the link at the bottom of the page on their site. The new hosting service started blocking the old server IP and people were seeing the banned IP message. The information was false in that the individuals IP was not banned, but the host server IP was. Confusion all over the place.

Then today, the new link failed, Not sure why or what they are doing, but we are all locked out while their IT teams try to fix the problems.

I haven't been able to log in for over four years now. Created a new account and never could get it approved either. Quit trying. They've never once answered an email about it.

Thanks. Thankfully the CMP is better at selling Garands than managing their forum

I had a error logging on for about three days. But was able to get in.. Then two days ago, could not get on at all.. I have read elsewhere they are doing more useful "upgrades",LOL

A lot of good people are gone from there after the change that occurred. They are never coming back. Why these places cannot just leave well enough alone, and not try to "improve" or fix things that are not are not broke.

I am likely gone from there myself if I have to jump through hoops to get back on there again.

The new format was ridiculous.. And I would get PMs about three weeks after someone sent them and vise versa.. Another great Forum destroyed.. Sad deal, another fine Forum is put into ruins..

Unfortunately the software had to be updated as the previous was at end of life. The new vbulletin software is kinda the standard for forums. They did a half arsed upgrade and changes the URL from http://forums.thecmp.org/ to that one with vbulletin.

The site is back up today and thankfully they used the original URL, which will allow folks to link from the Forum link at the bottom of the CMP page. They still do not have a certificate so the site is using http vs https. Minor security concern, but still should fix it.

Except for those of us who haven't been able to log in for years, and never get a response when attempting to contact admin about it.

Maybe their IT and hardware are also military surplus?

For every purchase of Windows 95, you get a free CRT monitor with large 14" screen.

Difficulty logging into the CMP forums...

                    All I can suggest:

                    Try creating a new account

                    email CMPForums@thecmp.org

Others have also posted in the help page and received assistance.

If your Forum registration is pending and need help logging in, please send an email to CMPForums@thecmp.org and garandcmphelp-forum@yahoo.com Note: Include your account user name in the email. Thank you!

Sorry about the issues and I am unable to assist beyond this advice.
