    C&R question

So I bought a c&r rifle before I had my license, do I have to check it out of my book if I sell it?

The regs say that you must enter in your A&D log all C&R firearms you acquire or dispose of while licensed. So, yes.

yes, log that specific C&R rifle in as a pre-licensed acquistion and then log it out to the buyer.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

IMO it is best to log everything, even "pre-license" acquisitions or weapons DROS'd normally through from a dealer. You won't get in trouble for being over-thorough, but you can certainly get in trouble for omitting something.

          Even current modern firearms?

I don't consider that necessary. Your C&R license doesn't grant any special privileges with regard to modern firearms, so you aren't "using" your license, per se, to acquire them.

              No, just C&R's.
