M39 rear sight bouncing around

I notice the rear sight on my Finnish M39 slides back to the rear a few notches after every shot. Any ideas on how to fix this. I looked online for the little springs that look like they provide tension and couldn't find them by themselves...only the entire sights and I'd like to keep the rifle as original as possible. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Mark Kubes might have them or Lane at Tennessee Gun Parts. Even if you had to buy more parts than you wanted, swap out what you need and you can still use the original sliders, etc.

it's a simple small spring you can find at the hardware store. just remove the leaf slider and plunger and take it with you.

I'll try the hardware store route. now to get that spring out without breaking or loosing any of those small parts.

Did you get all the cosmoline out of it? I had a mauser with the same problem before and it was just some cosmo causing the problem.

I hadn't taken apart the rear sight to the springs so perhaps there is some still in there. Good idea. Thanks.
