Bernardelli VP 25

Last week I picked up a Bernardelli VP in 25 ACP up in OR at a LGS. Had won it on GB and it was described as a parts gun. And that the gun wouldn't cock. Otherwise looked OK.



Turns out it was a combination of missing parts, incorrect parts (shares some parts with the Iver Johnson version) and incorrect reassembly. I've solved all of the functioning parts. Great fun test firing in one's back yard!

One problem remains, regards take-down.

First step of disassembly for cleaning is to press a button that releases a retaining bolt at the rear of the gun. The bolt release is spring powered.



The spring is missing. The bolt has to be removed to put in place. Anybody have one and done it?

A neat little. 25 Auto! This is a great area to collect, as the prices are still pretty reasonable and many are C & R's.

Looks like there's a cross pin to drift out. Simple enough, was under the grip. I don't know if this is common with others, but I kind of like buying "problem guns" and fiddling with them. This thing needed more than a few parts, including a disconnector, safety spring and coil springs. Nice little challenge.
