Remington Model 51 transfer question

Hey C&R gang,

I am trying to transfer a Remington Model 51 from an Oregon gun dealer. I have been told it should be a "CURIO". Is this correct? How can I transfer to CA? Need C&R FFL in Lake Elsinore area.

The Oregon gun dealer needs to ship the handgun to a California gun dealer that is close to you. The California dealer will then transfer the gun to you. The Remington Model 51 does indeed qualify as a "Curio or Relic", so it is exempt from California's safe handgun roster. The Oregon FFL will have to be set up with California's new CLFC system in order to ship to a California FFL. Many out of state FFL's don't want to bother with the "hassle" of doing that though.

that is the problem i am running into. isn't a c&r exempt from the clfc rules by the doj?

Only C&R long guns are exempt.
