Files? Do you have an example of these files? I would PM Kestryll and ask him about this, he has the final word.

The files are the images and scans that he's been posting on here.

I enjoy 'em. I have enough trouble keeping up with all the websites I enjoy (crap, I'm waaayy behind on Red vs Blue again!), so I vote for "keep on posting files on the forums."

I remember the suggestion you're talking about, though, and I think one of us has the wrong context for it. The way I read it, they were suggesting that you HOST the files on your website, instead of using the file-hosting service you do now. Not that you should move the entire posts over.

That's how I read it anyway.

I've certainly enjoyed your posts and find them full of valuable info.
If anyone else doesn't like your posts i would say they don't have to read them.
Anyone who would complain about the info that you spend your time procuring and putting up for us should spend their time reading another thread.

        Thanks again Mr Clancy,

BINGO! I think he was referring to my post question/suggestion. Rather than use photobucket...use your own site and link the pics there rather than photobucket. Each click of the pics would be another hit for your website.

I really hope my question didn't provoke this post. I was hoping to help drive UP your hits...NOT drive you off
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered....

            Gentlemen,
Many guys tell me my data is old info that they don't see why I post it. Others tell me I take up to much space I know it's crazy, but that's some of the answers I get. I am trying to get some sponsors for about 50 buck a month to help me keep up my sites and other costs. That's what I think the Boss is looking for and she sometimes gets P.O. with some of the data I get telling me my data is not important to them unless I can tell them how much their M1 is worth and when was it built. I have been paying all the costs out of the Boss pocket and she can't see why the guys don't try to help me out?? By buying a book/CD
Anyway thanks guys for your comebacks.
            Ed
ps I will try to keep my data as is for as long as I can.

Old info? Umm, no kidding. History is pretty much made up of nothing BUT "old info." Sheesh. Dunno what people are thinking sometimes. Ditto for "takes up too much space." What space? Cyber-space?

              Just ignore those types.

I have a name for people who are like that. It's not a polite name, either.

Ah, I hear you. I'll see what I can do after the holidays. I'm a fan of history, and like to see projects like this to collect it and keep it alive. I'm sure I'd enjoy a CD.

Keep up the good work, and don't let the nay-sayers bring you down.

Perhaps you should link to your site for the pictures or something. Google ads or something similar might be a good idea for bringing in website income... I don't know.

                Gentlemen,
All I am trying to do is to get the real Ordnance data out there. Sure my posts go to my sites to maybe sell a book or a CD haven't sold one for a long time. This stuff goes against many guys who heard at a gun show of shop a story on the M1 and that's what they go by and will not change, Even if I post the Ordnance Order they still tell me my stuff is wrong. Some of you might see what I am up against.
Gentlemen thanks for you comebacks. Even if I could sell you just a copy of the CD you would be back for more. Just letting me know that you guys are even reading my data helps.
                Thanks again
