Everyone should own a genuine USGI M1 Carbine.

I got a Winchester. Fun little gun to shoot for sure. So far my GI mags gave held up well. Acquired them at a Vegas Gun Show, in the original wrap.

Is it me, or do the stock cartouches look a bit too fresh on many of those? Oh well, some nice guns though. Glad I bought my NPM back when they were affordable.

I guess that's what they mean by the description saying restored or partially restored. Sounds like most were pieced together to be correct

Yeah, half a decade or so ago I needed some money so I sold my Winchester, Rockola and IBM Carbines.

I didn't get anywhere near that much and the only one I miss is the Rockola.

It's a Rockola Juke Box thing.

So a nice vintage M1 is now officially a rich man's gun? Wow, I'm old enough to remember when they were reasonable cost for an average CGer. I always thought they were cool but I prefer shooting my M1 Garand more.

But the ladies prefer the carbine. They really do.

No Howa made carbine made for Thailand?

This is in reference to Larry chasing for import the Howa made M-1 carbines made for the Royal Thai Police.

But all kidding aside those are some nice carbines in his collection.

Pretty high prices, but some will buy because of the collection they came from.

Yes Howa, a Japanese firearms manufacturer made M-1 carbines for the Royal Thai Police Forces.

Larry was frustrated by the "Old Sacramento Armory" in Sacramento Ca. who obtained the rights to import The Thai Police carbines with the caveat that the bayonet lug had to be removed. These Howa made carbines were marked "NHM" New Helveita Mercantile which was a sub business of the Old Sacramento Armory.

It's a shame Larry passed away last year. A true loss for collectors of USGI firearms.

I had the pleasure of meeting Larry a few times at "The Great western Gun Show" In Pomona Ca back in the 80's.

I hope his family profits greatly from the sale of his collection.

A link to the Howa carbines and Larry's chase to import them.

even Royal Tiger was getting 1500 when they still had them! I remember when Big5 had 'em for, what, a couple hundred?

I remember back in the late 80's early 90's Pony Express in Van Nuys had racks FULL of M1 Carbines around the same price along with wooden barrels packed full of C&R rifles.

Oh, to have a Time Machine...
