Can you identify these medals?

Not sure what forum to put this in, so I figured you guys would know as much as anyone. Someone gave me these medals, and I'm wondering what they are, exactly. They don't look like civilian competition - military?

They are marksmanship badges for the US Army. There are three levels, you have the two highest, left - sharpshooter, and right -expert. The soldier qualified for these with the rifle for expert and sharpshooter for carbine.

Yup, U.S. Army. They look old, but the newer ones are the same. I got the rifle badge in Basic Training back in the 90’s.

The year bars don't go on the Army qual medals. Most of these Army medals are sterling silver. I got a SS for the M-14 and Expert for the M-16. Army expert on the M-16 was not difficult, if you got a decent rifle. My basic training M-14 had lots of barrel wear.

Interesting..... I wonder what the bars are for, then. These medals are definitely not sterling silver - pot metal would be my guess.

Nope - they were in a pile of junk on a gun show table, along with assorted state medals. I gave $5 for a pile of them, all from the 50's and 60's. It'll make a nice display, next to all the medals I've won over the years.
