Jim "The Boltman" Robert having serious health challenges

For those who are fans of Mosin-Nagants or Mauser 98's, you may have heard of Jim "The Boltman" Robert. He's known for modifying bolt handles, especially ones that stick horizontally straight out, for scope mount usage.

Well, The Boltman has had several health challenges, and now he is fighting cancer. If some of you have had some work take a while, now you know why.

All best wishes to him to kick this cancer right in its backside and recover fully.

    Very sorry to hear this.

Jim turned down the bolt handle on a faux Swedish M41B sniper rifle of mine. He was a real gentlemen to deal with.
...a fool and his money were lucky to get together in the first place...

Very sad but makes sense why my bolt took so long. The work he did was done very well and I?m definitely impressed by his work. I sent him a spare bolt I had lying around for a mosin. I told him I will make sure his name and work are brought up at the range when people ask about the bolt

        Sad news, indeed.

Never met the individual or had dealings with him but pictures and reviews of his work always indicate top drawer craftsmanship. Best wishes from Dave.

I just got a couple of modified and polished bolt handles from Jim tonight. I'm going to try them in a couple of Mosins tomorrow morning. At flrst look, the man does top-notch work.

It is my sincerest hope that he beats this cancer. This is true not only because we need craftsmen like him, but even more so, that nobody should suffer from that disease...it's an UGLY, PAINFUL death. Fingers crossed for The Boltman.
