Great idea!
With no cap shrapnel hindering cylinder w/ primer encased in tube,
I’d like to try this w/ percussion caps as well to see if it would work.sigpicOriginally posted by dunndealStop digging.iTraderOriginally posted by BrassCaseI only buy fireworks from Three Finger Willie over at One Eyed Jack's Fireworks.

That's pretty dang cool. Thanks OP."Show me a young conservative and I'll show you a man without a heart. Show me an old liberal and I'll show you a man without a brain." - Sir Winston Churchill

The best price for the Uberti 1858 Remington is Midway. $350. The Uberti's usually are a lot more than the Pietta in most places but not Midway. (I sold my Pietta 1858 and then a couple years later bought the Uberti). Uberti is slimmer side to side in the steel frame around the cylinder and it has smaller grip frame too. More ergonomic and balanced.Comment

Great how people can improvise solutions to such things as shortages..For a while I was having a hard time finding percussion caps..But lately there have been alot of old stock showing at the Gun Shows now..Primers however are still crazy priced..Comment

I just tried this and it works.
I some problems with it.
1. I did not see the cat under the table when I fired the first one. Justa
primer.
I have not seen the cat for a half hour. not really a problem.
2. I tried it twice. And both times the hammer locked up.
I have a Uberti Remington in 44 caliber. Each time I had to pull the
cylinder out to free up the hammer. Not sure what's going on.
Any body else try this. If so how did it go?
Take care

Same thing happened to me when I tried it in my uberti SAA copy in 45 Colt. Without the powder charge, the primer backs out of the casing and locks everything up.Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!
